Logline:
A small-town Texas radio host’s annual Christmas Eve swap show descends into chaos, threatening the program’s very existence, until the tangled web of his callers’ disastrous last-minute trades reveals a single thread that could weave a Christmas miracle for the entire town.
Synopsis:
On Christmas Eve, Bucky Bullard, the weary but big-hearted host of “Tradio” on K-SAW 101.5, faces his worst fear: a show with no trades. As he broadcasts live from his malfunctioning studio, his small Texas town of Brady descends into festive chaos through a series of frantic calls. A mother’s fridge has died, taking her turkey with it; a butcher with a thrown-out back can’t walk his eight wolfhounds; a vegan yoga instructor needs meat to impress her MMA boyfriend; and a heartbroken electrician is secretly the cause of every electrical disaster in town.
With each failed trade, the show spirals closer to its rumoured cancellation. But as Bucky hits rock bottom and prays for a sign on air, the callers’ seemingly disconnected problems, from a misplaced church raffle turkey to a broken Plymouth Prowler, suddenly click into place. In a final, desperate, and brilliantly orchestrated chain of swaps, the townsfolk discover that the perfect Christmas gift isn’t what’s under the tree, but the community they have all along, proving that even in the most dysfunctional family, everyone has something to trade.
