$30 a day (approx. 1,000 Thai Baht) may not seem like a realistic daily budget for a holiday overseas, but when visiting the bustling metropolis of Bangkok, you don’t need to spend big to have that big mango experience. $30 can genuinely go a long way, and embarking on a memorable and budget-friendly adventure through the vibrant streets of Thailand’s capital city is not as expensive as many believe.

Thailand has become one of my favourite winter holiday destinations. The food, the weather, the friendly people, the rich tapestry of colours, smells, and sounds, there is so much to love about the Land of Smiles.

I’m a road trip addict, and many of my USA road trips have been based around music scenes. I started heading to the obvious music mechas of Memphis, Nashville, and New Orleans. I’ve been to the punk bars of New York, the rock scene of L.A., visited Motown, and the Chicago Blue bars, I felt like I’d seen it all, but I soon realised I’d barely scratched the surface.

I visited Cuba for the first time in 2017. I arrived having done a lot of research, but surprisingly it was very different from what I expected in many ways. It’s such a unique country and culture; getting your head around what to expect is tough if you’ve never been there. For all the research I’d done, I found that the images and preconceptions I carried were filled with misunderstandings and misconceptions.
